Report of Clinical Meeting on “Hope, Dignity, and Comfort – The Forgotten Side of Medicine.”

The Indian Medical Association, Bareilly Branch (2024–25), successfully organized a Clinical Meeting on 22nd November 2025 at IMA Bhawan in association with the Rohilkhand Cancer Institute. The program was conducted under the able leadership of Acting President Dr. V. V. Singh, Secretary Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Dr. D. P. Gangwar, Chairman, Scientific Committee Dr. Girish Agarwal, BOA Secretary Dr. Sumit Mehra, along with the presence of many other senior and esteemed doctors, which added great value to the academic deliberations. The meeting aimed to sensitize physicians to the continuing role they play in patient care even when curative treatment options are limited, with a special emphasis on compassion, empathy, and holistic care. The scientific session featured an insightful and thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Mayur Ghoghari, Consultant, Palliative Medicine, Rohilkhand Medical College, on the topic “Hope, Dignity, and Comfort – The Forgotten Side of Medicine.” He elaborated on the principles and importance of palliative care, highlighting how timely emotional support, symptom control, and preservation of dignity can significantly improve the quality of life of patients facing life-limiting illnesses. The talk was highly appreciated by the members and was followed by an interactive discussion, reflecting keen interest and active participation from the attending physicians. The program was well attended and proved to be academically enriching for all participants. The meeting concluded on a warm and cordial note, followed by fellowship and dinner, which provided an opportunity for informal interaction, exchange of ideas, and strengthening of professional bonds among the medical fraternity.
