Report on Adolescent Health Educational Program

An Adolescent Health Education Program was successfully organized in Bareilly on 21 December 2025 by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly, in collaboration with the Bareilly Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (BOGS). The program was thoughtfully designed to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 years. Students from nine prominent schools of the city—Alma Mater School, BBL-1, BBL-2, Sacred Heart School1, Sacred Heart School-2, Keshlata International School, Kanti Kapoor School, Madhavrao Scindia Public School, and Islamia School—participated with great enthusiasm. Each school was represented by 20 students who presented powerful and thought-provoking street plays (nukkad nataks) on socially relevant and health-related themes. Madhavrao Scindia Public School emerged as the winner of the program, while Alma mater School secured the runner-up position. In addition, several special prizes were awarded to participants in recognition of outstanding performances, impactful messages, and creative presentation, making the event highly inspiring and memorable.The topics addressed included excessive mobile phone usage, healthy dietary habits, self-confidence, body shaming, digital fraud awareness, sexual abuse prevention, and menstrual hygiene. Each presentation was followed by an interactive session conducted by two expert doctors, who provided accurate information, practical solutions, and behavioral guidance, enabling students to better understand and address these critical issues. The program was conducted in a competitive format, with the winner and runner-up teams awarded trophies, while all participating students were honored with certificates in recognition of their commendable efforts and active participation. The event was further graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Dr. Manikandan A., IAS, whose esteemed presence added dignity and inspiration to the occasion. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of several senior office bearers and eminent medical professionals, including Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava (President, IMA Bareilly), Dr. Anshu Agrawal (Secretary, IMA), Dr. I. S. Tomer (Patron, IMA), and Dr. Kamendra Singh (PRO, IMA). This was followed by the distinguished presence of Dr. Latika Agrawal (President, BOGS), Dr. Anita Nath (Secretary, BOGS), Dr. Lata Agrawal (Patron, BOGS), and Dr. Rashmi Sharma, along with many other senior and respected doctors of the city. All dignitaries and speakers highly appreciated the initiative, describing it as a meaningful, timely, and socially impactful program. They emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in the holistic development of adolescents and are essential for building a healthy, informed, and confident future generation.
