Report on CME on World Cancer Day

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly Branch, in collaboration with the Rohilkhand Cancer Institute, organized a clinical meeting at CH-3, IMA Bhawan, Bareilly. The scientific and academic program aimed to update and sensitize medical professionals about the current cancer scenario, the identification of common cancers, and the importance of early detection. The meeting featured insightful lectures by distinguished speakers. Dr. Ashish Kamathan delivered a talk on “Common Cancers in India: Saving Lives through Early Detection,” highlighting the crucial role of timely screening and diagnosis in improving patient outcomes. Dr. Prarabdh Singh spoke on “Cancer in India Today: What Every Physician Should Know,” emphasizing the growing burden of cancer in the country, advancements in treatment options, and the importance of awareness among both doctors and the general public. The program was attended by Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava, President, IMA Bareilly; Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Honorary Secretary; Dr. Girish Agarwal, Scientific Chairman; Dr. Shalini Maheshwari, Treasurer; along with Dr. Arjun Agarwal, Dr. Arvind, Dr. Parmendra Maheshwari, and Dr. Neera Agarwal, among other members and participants. The office bearers highlighted that such scientific meetings play a vital role in enhancing the knowledge of medical professionals and ultimately contribute to providing better healthcare services to society. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by IMA Bareilly to the Rohilkhand Cancer Institute and all the distinguished speakers for their valuable contributions. The event was followed by fellowship and dinner, providing an opportunity for members to interact and exchange professional experiences in an informal setting.
