Report on Covid Martyred

On the occasion of COVID Martyrs’ Day, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly Branch organized a Candlelight Tribute Program at IMA Bhawan, Civil Lines, Bareilly at 7:00 PM, in memory of the doctors who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the program, members of IMA Bareilly participated peacefully by holding lighted candles and paid heartfelt homage to the COVID martyr doctors. A two-minute silence was observed to remember their supreme sacrifice, dedication, and selfless service to humanity. IMA Bareilly also recalled that January 30 is observed as Martyrs’ Day in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi, and paid tributes to the Father of the Nation on his death anniversary. Thus, the day symbolized respect and gratitude towards all those who have laid down their lives in the service of the nation. The program was attended by IMA Bareilly President Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava, Secretary Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Treasurer Dr. Shalini Maheshwari, PRO Dr. Kamendra Singh, Dr. Shivam Kamthan, Dr. J.P. Sethi, Dr. Parul Kamthan, along with several senior and young doctors of the city. On this occasion, IMA Bareilly informed that, following a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has clearly ruled that private doctors who lost their lives while on COVID duty are also eligible for an ex-gratia compensation of ₹50 lakh (Rupees Fifty Lakh) under the Government of India scheme. IMA Bareilly is preparing a comprehensive list of all doctors who were martyred while serving during the COVID-19 pandemic. The association is fully committed to ensuring that the families of the deceased doctors receive the entire compensation amount of ₹50 lakh at the earliest and without any hurdles. IMA Bareilly reiterated that it stands firmly with the bereaved families and will extend all possible support to help them secure their rightful entitlements as per the judicial directive. The Candlelight Tribute Program concluded successfully in a solemn, dignified, and emotionally moving atmosphere.
