Report on Free Autism Camp & Parent Workshop

On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly Branch, in collaboration with Jeevandhara Rehabilitation Research Institute, successfully organized a Free Autism Screening, Assessment & Counseling Camp along with a Parent Workshop at IMA Bhawan, Bareilly. 
During the camp, more than 100 children were screened and evaluated by specialist doctors for autism and other developmental disorders. The main objective of the camp was to identify early signs of autism in children, provide timely guidance, and offer necessary counseling to parents. Along with the screening, experts also informed parents about behavior management, therapy options, and rehabilitation services. A Parent Workshop was also conducted on the occasion, where doctors discussed the early signs of autism, methods to understand children’s behavior, techniques to improve communication skills, and the importance of early intervention. Parents’ queries were addressed in detail, and useful suggestions were provided for the overall development of children. The program was attended by Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava (President, IMA Bareilly), Dr. Anshu Agrawal (Honorary Secretary), Dr. Shalini Maheshwari (Treasurer), Dr. Pramendra Maheshwari (Chairman, Community Services), along with Dr. Vinod Pagrani, Dr. Girish Agrawal, Dr. K.C. Gupta, Dr. Prem Kumar, Dr. V.K. Chawla, Dr. Raka Chawla, Dr. Ekansh Agrawal, and several other doctors. 
Office bearers of IMA Bareilly stated that the objective of such programs is to spread awareness about autism, remove misconceptions, and encourage timely medical consultation for a better future of children. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents and children, and IMA Bareilly reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more such public welfare programs in the future.
