Report on National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly Branch, organized a grand Blood Donation Camp at the IMA Building, Bareilly. The camp was held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in which a large number of doctors as well as citizens participated and contributed towards humanity and social responsibility. The program was formally inaugurated at 10:00 AM by the Chief Guest Dr. Vishwaram Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Bareilly. Dr. Amit Kumar graced the occasion as the Special Guest. IMA Bareilly President Dr. Atul Kumar Srivastava, Secretary Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Treasurer Dr. Shalini Maheshwari and PRO Dr. Kamendra Singh jointly stated that the objective of this camp was to spread awareness among society about voluntary blood donation and to ensure availability of safe blood for needy patients. Approximately 150+ units of blood were collected in this camp, and many of the donors donated blood for the first time, which reflects rising social awareness and active participation of youth. The successful conduct of this camp was made possible through the significant contribution of senior doctors including Dr. Ajay Bharti (Chairman, RSG IMA Blood Centre), Dr. Anju Uppal (Director, RSG IMA Blood Centre) and Dr. Vinod Pagarani (Chairman, Community Service), along with various other dedicated members. Many respected physicians including Dr. Ravi Mehra, Dr. Rajeev Goyal, Dr. Pramendra Maheshwari, Dr. Vimal Bhardwaj, Dr. Parul Priya, Dr. J.P. Sethi, Dr. Keshav Agarwal, Dr. Ruchi Srivastava and Dr. Archana Agarwal actively participated by donating blood and supporting this noble cause. IMA Bareilly expressed sincere gratitude to all blood donors, guests and supporters, and appealed to the citizens of Bareilly to come forward and contribute regularly in voluntary blood donation for saving precious lives.
