Report on Sensitization Workshop on UDSP Reporting for the Private Healthcare

A special Sensitization Workshop was organized at Hotel Ramada Encore, Bareilly, under the aegis of the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and as part of the RISE GHS Project, with the support of Jhpiego. The workshop aimed to strengthen the participation of the private healthcare sector and promote reporting through the Unified Disease Surveillance Platform (UDSP). Around 130 doctors from Bareilly participated in the programme. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize private healthcare providers about the importance of disease reporting through UDSP, timely submission of health information, early detection of diseases and strengthening disease surveillance systems. The participants were provided detailed information on accurate and timely reporting through UDSP, the early identification of communicable and other significant diseases, and the process of sharing essential health information with the health department. The experts highlighted that timely information received from private hospitals and doctors plays an important role in disease surveillance, early identification of potential outbreaks and effective public health response. The programme was attended by Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava, President, IMA Bareilly; Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Honorary Secretary; Dr. Seema Agarwal, ADG Health; Dr. Vishram Singh, CMO Bareilly; Dr. Prashant Ranjan, DSO; Dr. Akhileshwar Singh, DSO Bareilly; Dr. K.C. Gupta, President, IAP; Dr. Girish Agarwal; Dr. Nasir; and Dr. Laeeq Ansari, Deputy CMO, along with several senior doctors and representatives from the government and private healthcare sectors. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava, President, IMA Bareilly, stated that the private healthcare sector is an important component of the public health system. He emphasized that stronger coordination between government health authorities and private healthcare providers can make disease surveillance and control more effective. He added that regular and quality reporting through UDSP is an important step in this direction. Dr. Seema Agarwal, ADG Health, and Dr. Vishram Singh, CMO, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of private doctors and emphasized that a strong partnership between the health department and the private healthcare sector can further strengthen disease surveillance and early detection systems across the state. Around 130 doctors participated in the workshop. The programme played an important role in strengthening coordination between the government and private healthcare sectors and promoting effective, accurate and timely disease reporting through UDSP.
