Report on Volleyball Tournament Season-2

The IMA Bareilly Volleyball Tournament Season-2, organized by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly, was successfully conducted on Sunday at IMA Farms, Dohra Road, Bareilly, with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The tournament commenced at 7:30 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors and their family members throughout the day. A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, including 6 men’s teams, 2 women’s teams and 4 kids’ teams. The players displayed excellent sporting skills, determination and team spirit during the various matches. The programme was graced by Mr. Pooran Lal Lodhi, Regional President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Braj Region, as the Chief Guest. He encouraged the players and appreciated the initiative of IMA Bareilly, stating that such sporting events help strengthen camaraderie, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among doctors. Dr. Raghavendra Sharma, MLA, Bithri Chainpur, and Dr. Ravish Agarwal, President-Elect, IMA Uttar Pradesh, were the Guests of Honour. Both guests appreciated IMA Bareilly’s efforts to promote sports and encouraged the participating players. Despite rain and unfavourable weather conditions, the enthusiasm of the players remained undiminished. The participants continued to compete with great energy and dedication, creating an atmosphere of exceptional sportsmanship and healthy competition throughout the tournament. In the men’s category, Pratap Eagles emerged as the winners, while Bareilly MRI Tigers were the runners up. In the women’s category, Golden Gangasheel secured the winning position, while Rajshree Tigresses finished as runners-up. In the Kids Under 11 Years category, Secretary Warriors emerged as winners and President Titans were the runners-up. In the Kids Above 11 Years category, President Titans secured the winning position, while Secretary Warriors finished as runners-up. Dr. Sumit Kumar was awarded the Player of the Series title in the men’s category for his outstanding performance. The prize distribution ceremony for the previously held IMA Aquatic Meet 2026 was also conducted on the occasion. The winners and runners-up of the Aquatic Meet were felicitated with trophies and prizes in recognition of their performances. The successful organization of the tournament was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Atul K. Shrivastava, President, IMA Bareilly; Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Honorary Secretary; Dr. Shalini Maheshwari, Treasurer; and Dr. Anil Gangwar, Chairman, IMA Bareilly Volleyball League, along with all members of the organizing committee. The event was attended by Dr. Anil Gangwar, Dr. D.P. Gangwar, Dr. Girish Agarwal, Dr. Rohan Gupta, Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, Dr. Ruchi Shrivastava, Dr. Virendra Gangwar, Dr. Manish Goyal, Dr. Kamendra Singh, Dr. Shivam Kamthan, Dr. Pooja Agarwal and Dr. Ravindra Pratap Singh, along with numerous senior and young doctors and their family members. At the conclusion of the tournament, the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour presented trophies and prizes to the winning and runners-up teams. The entire event witnessed an excellent atmosphere of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and camaraderie. IMA Bareilly expressed its commitment to continue organizing such sporting events for doctors and their families in the future, further strengthening sports culture, family participation and a healthy lifestyle within the IMA community.
