Report on World Meditation Day

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bareilly Branch, successfully organized a Meditation and Yoga Programme on the occasion of World Meditation Day on Sunday, 21 December 2025. The programme was held in the morning and witnessed enthusiastic participation from IMA members. This special session was organized in collaboration with The Art of Living Foundation, in observance of World Meditation Day as declared by the United Nations. The primary objective of the programme was to strengthen mental well-being, promote effective stress management, and foster inner balance in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. During the session, participants were guided through scientifically designed breathing techniques, guided meditation practices, and simple stretching along with light yoga exercises. The onehour session was thoughtfully curated and proved beneficial for participants across all age groups. The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Atul Kumar Shrivastava, President, IMA Bareilly, and Dr. Anshu Agarwal, Secretary, IMA Bareilly. Several distinguished members of the association, including Dr. Ruchi Shrivastava, Dr. Archana Agarwal, Dr. Parul Priya, Dr. Sudha Yadav, Dr. Manish Goyal, Dr. Arshad Ali, Dr. Shraddha Maheshwari, Dr. Pooja Goyal, Dr. Shahida Ali, Dr. Sangeeta Agarwal, Dr. Supriya Agarwal, Dr. Nimisha Gupta, Dr. Ayush Kumar, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Shashi Kumar, and many other doctors, were also present on the occasion. In their address, the IMA office bearers emphasized the growing importance of mental peace and emotional balance for both healthcare professionals and society at large. They highlighted that such wellness-oriented initiatives play a vital role in encouraging a positive mindset and a healthy lifestyle, especially for medical professionals who work under constant pressure. A large number of IMA members actively participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. The session was followed by high tea for all participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein the IMA Bareilly Branch expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and The Art of Living Foundation for their valuable support and cooperation in making the programme a grand success.
